The ARC
The Arc of the United States is the national organization of and for people with mental retardation and related disabilities and their families. They are devoted to promoting and improving the quality of services for consumers and families. They also provide a wide variety of programs, services, advocacy initiatives and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The Arc's goal is to be a national force that creates the environment and the opportunities for people with mental retardation and their families to have choices as they live their lives in the community.
Association for Persons in Supported Employment
APSE: The Network on Employment is a membership organization formed in 1988 as the Association for Persons in Supported Employment (APSE) to improve and expand integrated employment opportunities, services, and outcomes for persons experiencing disabilities.
CARF
CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization that focuses on ensuring that the services used by people with disabilities meet their needs for quality and the best possible outcomes. CARF reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally on request of a facility or program. Since its standards are rigorous, those services that meet them are among the best available.
My Voice, My Choice
My Voice, My Choice is a project funded by the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council. The purpose of the project is to interview individuals that receive residential services and determine their level of satisfaction with their service provider. The results of Ohio's providers' questionnaires can be viewed online.
Ohio Department of MRDD
The mission statement of the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OD/MRDD) is to ensure the availability of services and supports that assist individuals in living the life they choose; to promote their health and safety; and to assist and support the families of these individuals in achieving these goals.
Ohio Provider Resource Association
As a statewide association of service providers, Ohio Provider Resource Association (OPRA) provides leadership to collaboratively shape the service system to most meet the needs of our ultimate customer, the individual with mental retardation and developmental disabilities (MR/DD).
Rehabilitation Services Commission
Rehabilitation Services Commission (RSC) is Ohio's state agency that provides vocational rehabilitation services to help people with disabilities become employed and independent. It also offers a variety of services to Ohio businesses, resulting in quality jobs for individuals who have disabilities.
